Digiscoping with SA401

Digiscoping is taking photos or videos through a spotting scope with a digital camera or smartphone.
Digiscoping is exploding in popularity. With a little practice, birders can quickly capture images by using the equipment they already have on hand while in the field. You can capture quality images by holding a digital camera or smartphone up to your scope’s eyepiece. This is a lot easier with the aid of an adapter or bracket such as the phone scope adapter slide your phone into the adapter and secure the setup onto your scope. Also, a wifi camera is a more ideal equipment to do the digiscoping, as you do not have the trouble of shaking and the worry of disturbing birds. Remote control of digiscoping isn't a great way to birding?
Now let me introduce how to digiscoping with SC001 and our spotting scope. For example:
SA401+SA406+SC001
Put the SA401 on a tripod stable, twist off the eyepiece of the SA401 and then twist up the adapter SA406 which can connect the scope and SC001. Before assembling the SC001 wifi camera, aim at the target and adjust the focus until you can see it clearly. At last, connect the camera and then you can go to the next step--- connect the phone.

Phonescoping is another way of digiscoping.

Put the phone camera lens snugly against your eyepiece. You don’t have two free hands this way which makes it more difficult to focus on your subject but with a little practice, you may still get some decent shots, and here’s a tip:
Use the volume buttons on your headphones iPhone rather than the on-screen shutter release button to take your pictures. This allows you to keep your hands off the phone itself reducing camera shake, especially on cold wintry days.

Digiscoping is a great way to document, unusual sightings or simply capture images of what you see in the field.
To enjoy the fun of digiscoping and have a good weekend to all.
